Call for Entries: ‘Rooted’ - 2022 NESBA Members Exhibit at Tower Hill Botanic Garden

  • Deadline to submit Intent to Exhibit: March 15th, 2022

  • Deadline for artwork drop-off: May 16th, 2022

  • Entry/Hanging Fee: $10 for NESBA Members (see “Labeling & Payment” below for details)

  • Public Exhibit @ Tower Hill: June 4th - October 31st 2022

Roots are an essential part of all plants, but one rarely seen since, except for aerial roots such as in orchids, the root(s) are usually underground. Yet roots are highly active systems providing plants with water and nutrients. Botanical artists regularly include the root system in their paintings and drawings of all types of plants - flowers, vegetables, bulbs, and trees. The inclusion of vegetables also coincides with the period when Tower Hill’s large edibles garden is being cultivated and thus provides an additional opportunity to highlight a central Tower Hill feature in our art.

This exhibit is open to all current NESBA members. Full details on entry are below.

If there is a change of date or cancellation due to the current Covid situation, we will notify you accordingly. Also please be aware that anyone participating needs to physically drop off and pick up their artwork from the appropriate drop off people unless you are out-of-area and will be mailing your entry, so please follow all safety precautions when doing so. Thank you.
