NEW FEATURES FOR THIS EXHIBITION:

  • Artists will receive a receipt for their submission by email.

  • The Intent to Exhibit form can now accommodate digital images. The primary use of the images is to assure artworks conform with the show theme and meet botanical art guidelines. In addition, NESBA plans to use the images in a virtual show on its website and Tower Hill will use some images for promotion of the exhibition. A digital image is required, but you may opt-out of it’s on-line or promotional use on the Intent to Exhibit form.

  • Hanging/entry fees are now paid on-line.

EXHIBITION THEME:

Exhibitions are an important way for NESBA to fulfill its purpose of educating the public about botanical art and New England plant diversity.  The theme of our 2024 exhibition at Tower Hill is “New England Wildflowers”.

For this exhibit wildflowers are defined as plants that grow in the wild without having to be tended or cared for by people. They can be either native or naturalized. The subject does not have to be a native plant, but it must grow on its own in New England; for instance, the New York aster (Symphyotrichum novi-belgii) is not a native but is found in all six New England States.

Exclusions: Because wildflowers are often thought of as an herbaceous plant, we are not including a vine, tree, or shrub. We will also exclude cultivars that have been modified from their original form.
