Join contemporary botanical artist, Donnett Vanek, for her presentation “Exploring Silverpoint”. Donnett will discuss the substrates and grounds used in silverpoint. She will demonstrate and discuss the silverpoint techniques of hatching, cross hatching and of linear layering of marks to achieve darks in a rendering. “Exploring Silverpoint” will broaden your understanding of how to use the subtle gradations and techniques of the silverpoint medium for a successful botanical rendering.

Donnett Vanek is a contemporary botanical artist working in the traditional botanical art techniques of drybrush watercolor, graphite, and silverpoint. Her work has been shown in a number of ASBA Annual International Exhibitions, solo shows and permanent collections.
