Learn how to use Photoshop Elements to enhance and ease your work as a botanical artist, especially when editing photos of your subject or your artwork.  Learn how to remove shadows, color match your photos to the actual artwork and a myriad of other tips and techniques.  Mindy also reviews appropriate scanning techniques. 

The zoom recording  will be made available to participants.   

NOTE: Photoshop Elements is available only for Windows and MAC computers.  It does NOT WORK on a tablet such as iPad.

You are not required to have Photoshop Elements installed at the time of the presentation. You can choose to do that later.   

You can purchase Photoshop Elements from Adobe for $99 for a 3-year license. They also offer a 7-day free trial.  

REFUND POLICY: Prior to the program’s start date, registration fees are refundable minus a processing fee provided we are able to fill your spot. If we are unable to fill your spot, your registration fee is non-refundable and may be considered a tax-exempt donation to NESBA.

INSTRUCTOR BIO

Mindy Lighthipe is an experienced botanical artist and teacher as well as an avid nature enthusiast. She is a former Education Director at NYBG and developed a 250 hour certificate program in Natural Science Illustration. Fascinated by the rainforest inhabitants and concern for the animals and plants, Mindy created an art series called “Symbiosis” which won a Silver Medal from the Royal Horticultural Society in 2009. This series went on to a solo exhibition at the Florida Museum of Natural History in Gainesville Florida. This prompted her to move to Florida where she currently teaches Introduction to Scientific Illustration at the University of Florida.
